Character Info
◎ Character's Name: Prussia
◎ Character's Canon: Hetalia
◎ Character's Age: ~1000
◎ Canon Point: modern (2014)
◎ Background/History: HetaArchive; Hetalia Wiki;
Prussia's early history is a little unclear. He started as the Margrave of Brandenburg, but shortly thereafter ended up in the Third Crusade where he became a hospital and soon the Teutonic Knights. At the end of the Crusade he was hired as a mercenary in Hungary's house to fight Turkey, but Prussia desired land and attempted to sieze land from Hungary, only to fail. Prussia was then hired by Poland with the stipulation in his contract that he would get the land he conquered. Catholic Poland was having problems with pagan Baltics at the time.
Prussia developed a love of fighting and was really good at it, so his first major defeat (after Lithuania married Poland) came as a shock and led to him being a bit depressed for awhile. Prussia bounced back however, and soon became a Kingdom, reclaiming Brandenburg as his. Shortly there after Prussia entered his golden age under the rule of Frederick the Great (Frederick II or Old Fritz as Prussia calls him). During Old Fritz' rule, Prussia was involved in multiple wars, most notably, the Silesia Wars (including the Seven Years War) against Austria and the Partitions of Poland. During the Silesia Wars, Prussia allied with Franch and Spain, becoming friends with the two Western nations. Prussia fought Austria hard and had him on the ropes before Hungary came and kicked him out for awhile. During the Seven Years War, Prussia allied with England because Austria had allied with France (who dragged Spain with him) and England was the kind of guy who would take anyone's side, as long as he got to fight France. Prussia almost ceased to be during the Seven Years War, but a sudden switch in Russia's allegiance allowed him to win after awhile.
Prussia continued to fight, even after Old Fritz passed on, notably being part of the winning side at Waterloo and working to form the German Empire. Sometime before the final formation of the German Empire, Prussia found a young Germany and began raising him as his brother. Prussia taught Germany many things, raising him up to be a unified and strong nation. Eventually he stepped back and allowed Germany to handle the day to day affairs of the nation, doing his own things.
During World War I he and Germany fought together and Prussia attempted to explain Italy to Germany. After the war he was independent for awhile, but was brought back into his brother's house for World War II where he fought in the Luftwaffe (air force). After the second war, Prussia lived in Russia's house as East Germany and was stuck doing unprofitable jobs.
After the reunification of Germany, Prussia moved back into his brother's house. Prussia now lives in retirement in Germany's basement. He chats with other nations via social media (a blog and Twitter); buys useless, cute things online; and makes noise. He still wants praise and does outlandish things, like visit nations to clean and perform a Bollywood style dance with India at America's Halloween party.
◎ Is the character a hacker and/or do they have a sixth-sense?
He somewhat gets technology, but I do not believe he would be hacker level. He is the best at machinerary, though, and would want to take apart the machines to find out how they work mechanically and see about improving them.
◎ Personality:
Prussia uses the term "Ore-sama" to describe himself in the Japanese version of the series, this is very telling about his personality as it is a very arrogant method of addressing one's self. In the English version, Prussia calls himself awesome and great quite often. This being said, Prussia has some clear insecurities, his arrogance is often a front for said insecurity.
Prussia's insecurities are tied to his likability and the fact that he is no longer a nation. Prussia is often alone and has been told that he is unwanted in situations, but he'll laugh it off and rarely admit to himself that he is lonely, often saying "It's awesome to be alone," or "Just me and my little bird." As a former nation, Prussia knows he no longer has any say in foreign policy or even domestic policy, but still wants to give advice to his little brother, Germany.
Despite Prussia's known arrogance, some of it is tempered by skills. Prussia is a skilled warrior, having grown up doing battle for over nine-hundred years, through wars ranging from knights and swords battles to tank and surface to air artillery battles. During that time Prussia has handled thousands of guns, swords, staves, pikes, spears, bows/arrows, and more, along with larger weapons such as airplanes. He is also accomplished at unarmed combat and is capable of taking quite a beating (regularly getting suplexed by Germany and laughing it off).
If it comes down to fight or flight, Prussia will choose to fight, 95% of the time. He enjoys battle to the point of fetishism and will, win or lose, feel exhilarated and, likely, horny after a good fight. He's a bit of an adrenalin junky, partly because he wants to be center of attention and acknowledged as still important, and partly because the danger excites him. But in the other 5% of situations, when he chooses to run instead, it is usually because he's beaten to the point he cannot continue or knows he has no hope of winning, even if he tried his best. During these times he will find an excuse that will cover his retreat, such as being bored with the battle.
Strategy is one of his strong suites. Though, admitting defeat, even hundreds years after the fact, is not. He can defeat armies much greater than his own using the terrain and unexpected maneuvers, such as marching during fog. However, he is always surprised by the enemy making their own unexpected maneuvers (Lithuania flanking him while he defeated Poland).
Prussia is very stubborn, to the point that it is a major fault. It is one of the few things he sometimes regrets about himself (in one strip he mentions that Germany got his stubbornness from Prussia and another of their brothers, to his slight ire). It doesn't stop him, though. He will stick with something (whether it is a battle or not) until something else distracts him. Luckily, he is easily is distracted.
He loves cute things, particularly if they're fluffy. Small animals, even the stuffed kind, are a special favorite of his. He has a bit of compulsion to buy stuffed animals if he sees them, especially if he thinks they'll be lonely otherwise. In the April Fool's blog he buys two stuffed pandas (one from China, the other from Hong Kong) simply because they were offered to him.
Many of the traits of knighthood linger even into the modern day. He is obligated by his beliefs to always be loyal to his bosses, even when they don't deserve loyalty. To betray them would bring dishonor to him. It is pointless to point out that he's acted less than honorably in service to some of his bosses.
He used to fear touching a woman, to the point where knowingly touching Hungary, before figuring out he was a she, had brought him to tears. This led him to avoid contact with women as much as possible. However, he did get over his fear; he still has difficulty with interactions with women. This makes his friendship with Hungary rather tumultuous, well, that and Prussia's active dislike of Austria. If it wasn't for Hungary believing she was a boy when she was young, Prussia wouldn't have formed a friendship with her in the first place. He would have instead been a distant acquaintance, like he is for many of the other female nations. He will often be more polite to female nations, but is still as rude as his natural arrogance leads him.
Considering his relationships, Prussia has rather difficult friendships. His friendships tend to be built on mutual insults, drunkenness, and long history. That isn't to say he doesn't have any healthy relationships. His friendships with Canada and Italy are built on love of food and Prussia's desire to protect them. His relationship with England is built on both being seen as useless things by their younger brothers, but is more of a comfort thing (and the fact Prussia is one of few nations brave enough to eat England's cooking).
Prussia is rather obsessive compulsive, his diary has been kept for his entire lifetime, since learning to write. He also does not like dirtiness. He is often seen as lazy, but he does not have a messy or smelly room. Trash is always thrown out, and the bag is changed regularly. Dirty dishes always get washed and put away as soon as possible. And dust cannot survive. He does have an obsession with throwing out people's underwear (likely because he doesn't wear any and finds it unsanitary). His skill at cleaning is something that he feels should be praised and will go to another nation's house to clean.
◎ Powers/Abilities: Exceptionally skilled fighter, particularly with guns and swords; polyglot (German, Latin - former Catholic knight, French - Old Fritz was particularly fond of the French language, Russian - he spent some time as a Russian satellite nation, and English, at the very least); very organized (to the point of obsessive compulsive when coupled with his cleanliness); airplane pilot (more for small planes than large); mechanic (helped Germany invent the car)
◎ Weapons & Other Special Inventory: nothing but the clothes on his back and the standard effects of a modern young German man.
CEREALIA-Specific
◎ Element: Air
◎ Sense: Sound; he wants to hear peoples acknowledgement and praise of him and relies on his hearing to help him get through battles, more so than his eye sight; he's also loud.
◎ Seven Character Traits: (Strong, Honest, Hardworking) | (Arrogant, Loyal, Stubborn) + Excitable

◎ Third-Person Sample: It was marvelous that for over eight hundred years, the secret of his diary vault had never spread. He had moved it over the years, keeping it within his lands even as his borders changed. Prussia was awesome. The vault housed hand written tomes that would be invaluable to historians for their first hand look at historical events since the Third Crusade. The earliest ones were written in Latin and used German only when Latin lacked the words he needed. Most people forgot that he was multilingual before he could really walk. To Prussia, it was just another advantage that would help him make way for New Prussia, one day.
"Kesesesese~" he laughed quietly as he opened the one book on the table. It was the latest of his journals, bookmarked with a blue ribbon about mid-way through. A pen sat next to it, ready for Prussia to start writing again.
Today, I was awesome! Prussia wrote after the date. He always began his entries like this, most of the time it was those exact words. Sometimes it was Awesome things happened today! or No one appreciates how awesome I am, but don't worry! or some other variation. Today had been a pretty good day, though.
I beat haxxor's ass on the Xbox. He was whining like a girl as I camped on his respawn point and sniped him! Little jerk shouldn't have made fun of West.
He loved playing his video games. He had started with some really cute games from Japan's house that involved the main character, a carpenter, jumping on turtles and mushrooms and things, but had quickly moved on to the First Person Shooter genre. It had been a bit difficult to learn initially since he was used to real guns, but he got over it and was now sitting in the top ten of the Leader Boards for all of the latest games.
When voice chat came out and he was able to communicate with people playing, he was surprised by the number of girls that played the games he liked. But he had learned to respect them quickly, since they were more ruthless than the guys. He had gathered a bunch of them onto a team with him, which would probably surprise most of the nations, since many forgot that he wasn't a bigot. Just because he teased Hungary for being manish didn't mean he thought girls should be in the kitchen and doing "girly" tasks. Fuck that shit. He teased Hungary because she had believed whole heartedly that she was a dude. He teased her because she had thought dicks grew. He teased her because she was his friend, even if they didn't act like it.
Prussia looked down at the rambling non-sense he had written. He had gotten off on a tangent and should get back to his original thoughts. He was originally writing about his day, not his favorite games and Hungary. Should visit Hungary tomorrow, he initially wrote before crossing it out and changing his mind. Going to play pranks on Austria tomorrow! Hope his "man" doesn't show up to play. That was written better. Best way to draw out his favorite Hungary was to tease Austria first, she was always so protective of him.
He finished off his diary entry with a description of some of the pranks he was planning before closing the book and setting down the pen. It was so relaxing to sit down and write about things. And he never forgot anything since he could always go and remind himself.
Finished, Prussia walked back through the bookshelves to the stairs. It didn't take much to climb them, turn off the light, and shut the door. But once he shut it, he had to lock it. His most private thoughts and feelings were down there, after all. It wouldn't do to have someone coming along and reading his plans for Neupreußen.
